Hello,

a bit about me:

Hi, I am Shelby Meredith a current Indiana University student studying Elementary Education with a focus in history. I am very excited to become a future educator and strive to teach in a kindergarten classroom. I have always had a passion for teaching children since I was young, but my decision to pursue education began my sophomore year of high school after working in my first kindergarten classroom. From then on, I have realized the importance and value that teachers can hold in a students' life. I want to be that teacher students remember because of the impact I made on their life.

Technology is becoming a large factor in today's classrooms. It is important for teachers to be well rounded in knowledge of technology and programs that can be used in daily lessons. After taking the computers in education course, I realized how much technology can be incorporated into a classroom and how students can use it to achieve goals. Students have so much potential and I want to show them that no obstacle is too big to conquer. The amount of resources technology provides is limitless and will give students many opportunities to succeed.

A students' success is the most important part of teaching. From the moment students enter the classroom door is the teacher's starting mark in guiding them to achievement. As a teacher, I will create a classroom that is focused on respectful collaboration, educational growth,  and  learning opportunities. I will incorporate techniques that reach all students' learning capabilities and styles. I want to teach in an engaging and motivational way that makes students eager to learn.
